Headmaster’s welcome

Geneva English School provides a high-quality, innovative and holistic education in a glorious and inspiring setting, overlooking Lake Geneva.

The smiles on the faces of our boys and girls, their zest for life, and their genuine enthusiasm for learning are obvious to any visitor and testament to the energy and distinctive spirit of the school.

Families who join GES are immediately made to feel welcome and become part of our friendly and supportive community. We believe firmly in the importance of a strong partnership between school and home. Parents are encouraged to attend events and activities at school, to support their children’s education and to contribute their ideas and expertise to enrich the life of the school.

Our commitment is to provide an education that is unsurpassed in Europe. We take the traditions and strengths of the British system with its emphasis on in-depth learning and a broad co-curricular programme and combine them with the best elements of modern, international programmes. We offer a truly interconnected curriculum with interdisciplinary and extended projects, a strong emphasis on languages and communication, and the development of attributes and skills appropriate to life in the 21st Century. Our approach is open, innovative and outward-looking.

Our core values of teamwork, community, respect, courage, opportunity and integrity really matter to us and extend to the whole community, both adults and children.

Our pedagogy is based upon methods of teaching and learning that are truly engaging, motivating and child-centred. The ability to reflect and think critically and the cultivation of deeper, longer-lasting levels of understanding are developed through active learning, discussion and debate.

Every child is important to us. Above all, we want our pupils to be happy and to enjoy their days at school. Our strong pastoral system is designed to support and value every individual. We offer as many opportunities as we can to all of our pupils and we ask them to be thoughtful, to be kind, and to strive to be the very best that they can be.

Our website can only give a glimpse of the education on offer here. Please come and visit us and experience the soul and the spirit of GES for yourself.
